Updates Windows: updates download and install automatically in the background. When one's ready, you'll see an Apply banner. Click it to restart into the new version whenever it's convenient; it isn't forced on you mid-flight. Applying closes CAVacars 2 and reopens it on its own, which can take a minute. macOS / Linux: you'll get a banner with a Download update button when a new version is available. Install it the same way you installed the current one. You can also check for a new version at any time with Check for updates in the pilot menu (your name, top right). Try not to apply an update in the middle of a tracked flight. Tracking resumes after the restart, but there'll be a gap in your track and the flight may go to staff review. See Flight tracking . What's new To see what changed in each version, open the pilot menu and choose What's new . It lists recent releases, newest first, with each change marked New , Fix or Faster . A red dot on your avatar means there's a release you haven't looked at yet; it clears when you open What's new. The full history is on the Changelog page. New versions are also announced in the CAVacars 2 channel on the CAV Discord.
