2025-01-19 - Initial V2 Release

This update is a major update to the website that fundamentally changes all systems away from the VaBase foundation and onto a fully custom-built solution.  

 Users can expect to notice the following changes, fixes, and improvements: 

 General 

 

 Significantly faster page loads due to local data instead of remote data 

 Improved alignment of data tables 

 Harmonized icons for pilots, aircraft, countries for ICAO codes, airlines, etc 

 Longer session timeouts to limit having to re-login as often 

 Times will be displayed in your local timezone (this is best-effort and relies on your computer's timezone being set properly) 

 Live Flights listing displays if a flight is related to a schedule, tour leg, event, or a charter. This persists throughout the site, in your logbook, dispatched flights, etc. 

 Hubs pages updated with more stats about the pilots and the airport itself 

 Airports databases with over 80,000 airports pulling data from OpenAIP and OurAirports 

 Removed performance score, XP, and money from system 

 Stylized routes across site 

 Flight using smarCARS 3 can now be paused without causing any trouble for the pilot or staff. Duration will be measured appropriately. 

 

 Tours 

 

 Tours can be sorted by group and alphabetical, by popularity, and by rating 

 Introduced the ability for pilots to rate tours once they have completed 20% of the tour 

 Pilots can provide feedback to staff for tours, once completed 

 Tours can be filtered by In Progress, Completed, or Not Started 

 Tour legs can be dispatched from the tour page if eligible 

 Tour legs listing highlights completed legs more distinctly 

 Tour map displays completed legs in green colour vs red/grey 

 

 Events 

 

 New Events calendar displaying all events 

 Events are grouped by category 

 Event flights can only be dispatched between the start and end date of the event 

 Flightplan download 

 

 Awards 

 

 Awards now have an associated rarity based on how many pilots have been granted the award 

 

 Dispatches 

 

 Pilots may dispatch as many flights as they like at any time 

 Dispatched flights not started within 48 hours are removed 

 New My Dispatches page that aligns with what's visible in smartCARS 3 

 Allow dispatching via website or smartCARS 3 

 Allows deleting of dispatched flights 

 

 Charters 

 

 Simpler charter flight creation via website or smartCARS 3. Functionality is identical between the two.

 Added flight activity chart of recent flights 

 

 Pilot Logbook 

 

 Added tour progress section
