How It Works

Ferry Flights — How It Works

Ferry flights are one of the most unique and rewarding experiences available to pilots on our VA. Unlike scheduled routes or tours, ferry flights put you in the seat of a real aircraft transaction — ferrying a plane from its seller to its new owner, one leg at a time, across some of the most interesting routing in the world.

The Weekly Ferry

A brand new ferry flight is released every Monday. Each one tells the story of an aircraft sale — who sold it, who bought it, why, and the route it needs to take to get there. That route is broken into 3 or 4 legs spanning multiple countries, sometimes multiple continents. The full briefing, aircraft details, and leg breakdown are available on the ferry flight page as soon as it goes live.

Current week ferry flights always offer the highest Ferry Credit rewards, so it's worth jumping on them early.

Ferry Credits

Ferry Credits (FC) are the currency of the ferry flight system, completely separate from your pilot rank and standard VA awards. Every leg you complete earns you FC, and bonuses stack up the more you achieve.

Action Ferry Credits
Complete a leg — current week 500 FC
Complete a leg — archived ferry 250 FC
Complete the full ferry — current week 1,000 FC bonus
Complete the full ferry — archived ferry 400 FC bonus
Flying the prescribed aircraft type Bonus FC
First pilot to complete the full current ferry 500 FC bonus

Your total FC balance and ranking appear on the Ferry Credits scoreboard, which tracks total credits earned, full ferries completed, and total legs flown across the entire community.

Flying the Prescribed Aircraft

Each ferry flight specifies the aircraft being ferried. Flying that exact aircraft type when submitting your PIREPs earns you a bonus on top of your standard leg credits. It also makes the scenario feel authentic — you're not just flying the route, you're flying the right plane for the job.

Completing a Full Ferry

Legs must be flown and completed in order. You cannot begin Leg 2 until your Leg 1 PIREP has been accepted, Leg 3 requires Leg 2 to be accepted, and so on. This keeps the ferry feeling like a genuine progression from origin to destination rather than a set of disconnected flights.

Once all legs are accepted you'll receive the full completion bonus automatically. If you're the first pilot in the community to complete that week's ferry in full, you'll also receive the first completion bonus on top.

Archived Ferry Flights

Every ferry flight ever released remains available to fly permanently in the archive. Archived ferries earn reduced FC compared to the current week, but they're a great way to build your credit balance, explore routes you missed, and work toward completion awards at your own pace. The same leg ordering rules apply — you still need to work through them in sequence.

Awards & Recognition

Ferry Credits aren't just a number. They feed into a dedicated awards system that recognises your commitment to the programme.

  • First Ferry — a one-time award presented when you complete your very first full ferry flight from origin to destination
  • Monthly Award — each month, the pilot who has earned the most Ferry Credits during that calendar month receives a monthly top earner award
  • Annual Prizes — we plan to introduce annual recognition and prizes for our highest achievers in the ferry programme, details to be announced

Keep an eye on the scoreboard — the competition for monthly top earner can get close.
