General Flight Rules

Flight Reporting

Pilots must use smartCARS 3 on all flights.

Landing Rates

Landing Rates must be within -750fpm and +250fpm. Landing Rates that do not fall within these parameters will be rejected.

Diversions

Diversions are not permitted. You must complete a flight from your planned departure airport to your planned arrival airport listed in smartCARS 3.

Landing at an Incorrect Airport

smartCARS 3 will recognize you have landed at an incorrect airport and your flight report will be rejected.

Touch & Go

Touch & Go maneuvers are recognized as landings. Your flight will be rejected for landing at an incorrect airport.

Time Acceleration

Time Acceleration is not permitted. All flights are to be flown with a simulation rate of 1x

If the use of time acceleration is detected, your PIREP will be rejected.

Pausing

As long as you’re flying offline and don’t interrupt the operation of smartCARS 3, you may pause your flight and resume it at any time afterwards without penalty.

Typically, the controllers on the VATSIM and IVAO Networks do not allow flights to be paused.

Slew Mode

Use of slew mode while on the ground to adjust your parking position is allowed. Once airborne and any other usage of slew mode will lead to your PIREP being rejected.

Fuel Usage

Use of unlimited fuel or re-fueling while airborne is not allowed. Any PIREP showing no fuel used or fuel added in flight will be rejected.
